 THE PERFECT DAY FOUNDATION

The Perfect Day Foundation is a UK-based charity formed by former IDEALS/Wallace Group Students.  They have embarked on a program to support the education of the Peer Leaders who made their experiences memorable.

 

Cosmos Siwale,

Chipata Community

Cosmos is a peer leader from Chipata Community in Lusaka.  He is a grade 9 student at Lizeyete Education Center, and studies English, Mathematics, Civics, History, Geography and Environmental Science.  Both of his parents have passed away, so he and his three siblings currently stay with his grandmother and grandfather.  He works as a Junior Peer Leader and coaches an under-12 basketball team at Chipata Community School.  he enjoys sport because it makes him fit and strong, while providing an opportunity to share ideas with many young people.  He aspires to be a doctor or a teacher, and wants to also be a professional basketball player on the Zambia National Basketball Team.

Gibson Chilwa,

Chipata Community

Gibson is a grade 8 student at Chipata Open Community School in Lusaka.  He is a Peer Leader from Chipata Community School, playing for the under 16 team while coaching the under 10 team.  He studies Science, Social Studies, English, Mathematics, and Religious Education.  Gibson likes interacting, teaching and learning from his peers while playing sport.  He wants to become a Teacher and be involved with sports at the school he is working at.

Mpundu Catherine Mutale,

Fountain of Hope

Catherine is a grade 10 student at Kamwala High School in Lusaka.  She studies Mathematics, English, History, Biology, Accounts, Chemistry and Geography.  She is a player for the Sport In Action Netball Team, and also coaches at the Fountain of Hope and Mtendere Project Sites.  She enjoys working with children and young people because of the smiles they carry when they are participating in sports activities.  She hopes to become an accountant when she finishes school.

Jackson Kaunda,

Fountain of Hope

Jackson is a grade 11 student at Kamwala High School in Lusaka.  He studies Mathematics, English, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Religious Education, Art, and History.  Jackson plays basketball at Kamwala High, and also coaches volleyball and basketball at Fountain of Hope.  He enjoys teaching games to kids because it helps them learn lessons about HIV/AIDS much better than just hearing about it.  Jackson wants to become a social worker when he finishes school.

Frank Banda,

Munali

Frank is a peer leader at the Munali Project Site in Lusaka.  He is a grade 9 student at Tunduya Basic School, and he studies Mathematics, English, Geography, History, Religious Education, Science and Home Economics.  He is a a captain for his football team, and enjoys sport because it keep him healthy and helps him feel confident in whatever he does.  He wants to become a solider and a professional footballer.

Delphine Mapulanga,

Munali

Delphine is a grade 9 student at Chamba Valley Basic School in Lusaka.  She studies Mathematics, English, History, Geography, Science, Civics, Office Practice, and Religious Education.  She has 5 brothers and three sisters, making it difficult for her parents to send everyone to school.  She plays for the Sport In Action Netball Team, while also coaching the uner-14 team at the Munali Project Site.  Delphine enjoys sports because it can teach people a lot about life.  She wants to become a nurse to help people who are suffering.
