Sport
In Action (SIA) is a non-governmental organisation
(NGO) whose purpose is to improve people’s quality of
life through sport and recreational activities. Founded in
1998, SIA was the first Zambian sports NGO. With Sport for Development
(the use of sport as a tool for social change) as its
underlying principle, SIA positively impacts the lives of
thousands of children throughout 24 districts in
Zambia .

staff and volunteers work with more than 160,000 children
each week, many of whom come from challenging backgrounds.
Through this work lives have been transformed due to
knowledge enhancement in the area of health life skills, behavioural change towards both family
and peers and improvement in sporting abilities. More

Sport In Action is proud to announce the forth coming visit of Double Olympic Champion Rebecca Adlington, Commonwealth Gold Medalist Ross Davenport, Olympic Silver medalist Joanne Jackson and the most decorated female GB athlete at a Commonwealth games, former Olympian and Sport In Action International Ambassador Melanie Marshall.
The visit is two fold, to view our project sites and newly renovated swimming pool; and to cycle 400 miles from Livingstone to Lusaka in four days to raise money for Sport In Action. The visit will take place after the 2012 Olympic Games in London during early October 2012. Sport In Action feels very privileged to host the visit of such established elite athletes in the World of swimming and sport in general and wishes Rebecca, Ross and Joanne all the best of luck in the upcoming Olympic games! Our prayers our with you in wishing you the greatest of success.
